Doomwatch is designed with privacy as a core principle. We believe your server monitoring data is yours alone, and we've built the app to reflect that belief.
Doomwatch does not collect, transmit, or store any of your data on external servers. Period.
All information you enter into Doomwatch—including server hostnames, IP addresses, ports, certificate data, domain information, and settings—remains exclusively on your device.
The following data is stored locally on your iPhone using standard iOS data storage (UserDefaults and app containers):
This data never leaves your device. It is not backed up to our servers because we don't have servers. It is not transmitted to third parties because we don't integrate with third parties.
If you have iCloud Backup enabled on your device, your Doomwatch data may be included in your encrypted iCloud backups as part of iOS's standard backup process. This is controlled entirely by your iOS settings, not by Doomwatch. We do not have access to your iCloud backups.
Doomwatch does communicate with the internet, but only for its core functionality:
Doomwatch sends local notifications to your device to alert you about expiring certificates and domains. These notifications are generated and delivered entirely by iOS on your device. They are not sent through external notification services, and their content is not visible to us or any third party.
Doomwatch provides Home Screen and Lock Screen widgets that display your certificate and domain expiration status. Widget data is read from the same local storage used by the main app and is shared between the app and widgets using iOS App Groups (a standard iOS mechanism for data sharing between an app and its extensions). This data remains on your device and is not transmitted externally.
We do not share your data with anyone. Since we don't collect it in the first place, there's nothing to share.
Doomwatch does not integrate with third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking services. The only external communication is: - Direct connections to your servers for certificate verification - Public RDAP queries for domain expiration information
Both of these are essential to the app's functionality and are performed only when you initiate a check.
Doomwatch is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children. Since we don't collect information from anyone, this is easily accomplished.
Your data is protected by iOS's standard security mechanisms: - App sandbox isolation (your data is isolated from other apps) - Device encryption (if you use a passcode or biometric authentication) - Secure storage (UserDefaults and app containers)
Since your data never leaves your device, it is not subject to network interception, server breaches, or unauthorized access by third parties.
Since all your data is stored locally on your device, you have complete control:
Data is retained on your device until you delete it or uninstall the app. When you delete a server from Doomwatch, it is immediately removed from local storage. When you uninstall Doomwatch, all app data is deleted from your device (subject to iOS's standard uninstallation behavior and any iCloud backups you maintain).
We may update this privacy policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will update the "Last Updated" date at the top of this policy. Continued use of Doomwatch after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
That said, given that we don't collect data now and have no plans to start, major changes are unlikely. If we ever decide to add features that collect data (e.g., optional cloud sync), we will update this policy and request your explicit consent.
